What you get when you join Connacht Taekwon-do Schools
An attentive, interested instructor who cares about your well-being inside and outside
the dojang.
A highly qualified instructor who takes part in at least one international instructor
course per year, annual umpire course and instructor course.
A thorough child protection policy, backed by a child protection officer, who is
an experienced social worker.
Access to the top master instructors in the World, brought right to your doorstep
via regular masterclasses in Galway and Athlone.
Access to no less than four major Regional/National tournaments per year, all run
by internationally qualified referees.
Some of the instructors have experience of corrective exercises e.g. stretches and
muscle activation exercises to help manage postural problems caused by today’s lifestyle.
For example, what hip mobility exercise should every man do but 99% of women avoid?
If a member joins who has tight quadriceps muscles, what stretches & strength exercises
should he/she do to alleviate the problem and what should be avoided? Most other
instructors can’t answer these.
In these days of widespread chronic illness, e.g. heart disease, type II diabetes,
cancer, etc… nutritional deficiency is almost always a leading factor. Misinformation
is unfortunately also widespread. Your instructor will certainly have a rudimentary
knowledge of nutritional advice. Are you availing of it? Through Mr. Fitzgibbon,
each student and instructor of Connacht Taekwon-do Schools™ can access the latest
research done for you. Did you know that one of the most popular multivitamin formulations
available in shops today has amongst, other ingredients, sugar, salt and partially
hydrogenated soybean oil? This last ingredient is a major cause of heart disease
according the Harvard School of Public Health.
You can receive a tailor-made nutritional program based on your specific health goals
or concerns from Mr. Fitzgibbon, who is backed by B.Sc. NUI Galway, and years of
research.
You receive a specific, goal-orientated training syllabus and grading system. Nothing
is left to chance. Every instructor is on the same page, following the same system
so members can move from one Connacht (or even nationwide IUTF) club to another and
be confident in their knowledge.
Supplementary DVD’s are available at certain grades to facilitate members training
at home. Just go along with the videos on your DVD player and enjoy the experience
of “almost” having an instructor at home.
Dedicated website providing all the latest news, health and fitness tips, downloadable
theory content, etc. COMING SOON – PREMIUM CONTENT PAGES WITH VIDEO FOOTAGE OF EXERCISES,
FITNESS TIPS, ETC…
Chief Instructor, Mr. Fitzgibbon is one of the few martial arts instructors to have
